Gingham

Dress: Anthropologie (similar here and here), Shoes, Sunglasses (similar here), Clutch: Gigi New York, Earrings: ILY Couture, Lips: MAC 'Captive'

I've worn these new Valentinos a few times now, and they are seriously the MOST comfortable shoes (and so pretty). I'm so glad I got them! This gingham dress was such a steal! I'm so glad I found it. I went to Anthropologie looking for a candle (my favorite) and couldn't pass this dress up. It will also be cute layered with a faux fur or a cardigan. Unfortunately, it is not available online, but I just bought it last week, so it should still be available in most stores. I linked a few other ones on sale (with an extra 30% off!). This MAC lipstick is one of my new fall purchases (along with 'Pink Plaid') and I really love it. It's a different color than what I normally go for, but I can't stop wearing it.

Today is a very special day because it is my grandma's 90th birthday! We are having a party for her this weekend in Wisconsin with the whole family. I'm excited to see everyone & I'm so grateful to have such an amazing lady as my grandma!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Green Plaid Dress

Plaid Dress, Booties: similar here also love these and these, Hat, Sunglasses: Ray BanLips: YSL #4, Necklace: Kate Spade, Bag: Louis Vuitton

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. I co-hosted a event at Madewell over the weekend and it was so much fun! They have so many great items right now, I wanted it all! I picked up a few great things which I can't wait to share soon.

This plaid dress is perfect for transitioning into fall. It is also perfect for those of you that are ready to wear fall clothes, but have warm temperatures hanging around. When I wore this it was actually quite chilly, so I ended up changing into taller boots for a little more warmth. We've been having such gorgeous fall weather, I don't want it to ever end! Fall always seems to go by so quickly (never ready for winter).

Yesterday I announced some exciting news on Instagram.  I am going to be an aunt in April! I am so happy for my sister and her husband, and I can't wait to meet my little niece or nephew! 2016 is going to be SUCH an amazing year (becoming and Mrs. and a first time Auntie)! I can't wait for all the excitement coming up! Here are the announcement pictures my sister & I posted yesterday in case you missed them.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Today I'm sharing a delicious fall treat...pumpkin whoopie pies! The cookies are so good alone, but with the cream cheese buttercream filling they are even better! I used a piping bag to pipe the cookies on the baking sheet to make sure they were uniform. I also used one for the frosting. I put chocolate sprinkles on the edge of some of them also (I can never say no to chocolate!).

Here is the recipe:

Cookies:
1 cup butter or shortening
2 cups brown sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin

Frosting:
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Bake at 400 degrees for 5-6 minutes.  The larger you make the cookies, the longer they will take (up to 10-11 minutes).  I made mine smaller so they only needed 5 or 6 minutes.

These are AMAZING! They taste like fall. I highly recommend using a Silpat on your baking sheet, which can be found here.  Here is the Mackenzie-Childs pedestal platter pictured.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Fall is Here!

Plaid (similar here), Jeans: Nordstrom similar here, Shoes: Christian Louboutin similar here, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Happy first official day of fall! This is definitely going to be my fall uniform. This chambray plaid shirt is so soft and oversized, I've already worn it so much already. It is one of those shirts you always reach for in your closet when you don't know what to wear. I think it will be really cute layered once it gets a little cooler. These jeans are also a great find. They are really stretchy and a great wash. I love having an alternative to my skinny jeans (although I do still love them), it's nice to switch it up sometimes. I also had a little bit of a hard time finding flares that were long enough to wear with heels (tall girl problems), but these are the perfect length.

Sunday Funday

Shirt: Nordstrom, Plaid, Shorts: similar here and here, BraletteHat, Sunglasses

I think this shirt is going to be on repeat every Sunday. I love it (plus it is super soft)! Every Monday is tough and I'm always wishing for one more day in the weekend. Starting the third week of the school year, we are finally getting back in the swing of things. I'm enjoying getting to know my new students (but the 5:30 morning wake ups are still rough). Hope you all have a great week! Thanks for stopping by!
