I love gingham for fall and this top is one of my FAVES. It's from Zara, but it is not available online, but I found a couple of other ones I love. Speaking of Zara, I just found out that we are FINALLY getting a Zara in Michigan in October! Zara is one of my favorite stores, so I am so excited for it to be here!
Sometime else I am so exited about is my sister and niece come this week to visit! Knowing they will be here in a day or two makes it so much easier to get through the week :)
We also have an out of town wedding this weekend, and luckily it is in Wisconsin so I can go stop by my grandmas for her birthday! It sure is going to be a busy week! Stay tuned to see the latest twinning adventures of Auntie & Charlotte!

First Cider Mill Trip of the Season

Nothing tastes more like fall than apple cider & spiced donuts. I love that all the cider mills are open now, but I must say it is DANGEROUS living so close to two cider mills.  This weekend I popped in as I was driving by just to get a donut and a little cider. They are just too good to pass up. Normally, I'm not a huge donut fan, but cider mill donuts are on another level. It was unexpectedly chilly this day, so I went with the hot apple cider and it was so delicious.  I'm so excited for my niece, Charlotte, to be here next week to take her apple picking and let her try one of these donuts for herself! Last year we took her and we let her lick one of the cinnamon sugar donuts (she was so little) and she LOVED it. If you live in the area, I highly recommend Three Cedars Farm. Their donuts are amazing!
On another note, when I was at Nordstrom this weekend I saw that this dress/romper now comes in a gorgeous coral color that is perfect for fall.  I almost wanted to get that one too! I love finding new ways to wear pieces I love, like a dress as a skirt.

Apple Picking

One of my favorite things about fall is apple picking & fresh apple cider (and donuts too of course). I was so anxious to get to the apple orchard this year, so we went the weekend it opened.  The weather was beautiful and there were plenty of apples to pick from. We picked a bunch that are best for eating, and a bunch that are good for baking. I hurried home and made a few mini apple pies (which were delicious!).
You may recognize this dress from last fall. It was one of my favorites and it's still available! I wore it to a fall wedding last year in November, and I got a ton of compliments on it.  The skirt it really full, making it perfect for dancing and twirling. I wanted to share how to wear this dress to dress it down a bit.  I opted for ankle boots and a button down tied in the front for a more casual, laid-back look.  I also added a hat, because they are my FAVORITE fall accessory. It's so fun to find new ways to wear a piece you love.
PS- I also love the length of this dress. I'm almost 5'8" and it is the perfect length on me with heels.  If you are on the shorter side, you might need to hem it a bit.

Happy Monday! I recently got in these flats and I'm OBSESSED! The bow is so dramatic and girly and they are actually SO comfortable - not to mention, a great price. The suede is even more gorgeous in person.  I love combining black & blue, so these flats are perfect for pulling together a look.

Happy first day of school for all those of you that are students, parents, or teachers! I feel like I have said this 100 times, but I just can't believe it is already time for back to school. This summer went by SO fast. I'm not sure I'm quite ready, but ready or not, here it is.  The first day/week is always so hard because there always seems like a million things to do and tell the new little kiddos and it's hard getting back into the swing of things (for the first graders AND for me).  I do always get so excited to see their smiling faces on the first day and to get to know my new little munchkins.
With school starting, it officially feels like fall to me.  There are so many things about fall that I absolutely love that I'm looking forward to like cider mill trips, beautiful colored leaves, fall candles, and pumpkin spice everything.  But my all time favorite thing about fall is fall fashion.  Bring on the boots, cozy sweaters, blanket scarves, cardigans, and jackets! I've rounded up some of my top favorites today, some of which I've already bought and love (like the bow flats, colored jeans, and cardigans) and some that I've been eyeing for awhile.
