Brunch Hosting

Today I wanted to talk about brunch...
Who doesn't love a good brunch? This year I hosted Easter brunch (which is especially tricky with not having much prep time after church). I'm all about semi-homemade and finding easy recipes to cook (since I majorly prefer baking to cooking). I thought today I would share a few tips and ideas for an easy brunch you can prepare for your guests if you are looking to host a brunch.

The first thing you need to make sure you have ready to go is your bar cart/drinks. I decided on mimosas and peach Bellinis for our drinks. I also had beer and other drink choices in case people didn't want champagne.  I set out the juices and champagne on the bar cart, along with some fruit to garnish the drinks. Of course I also had quite a few batches of coffee brewed and ready to be served!
As I mentioned, I didn't have much prep time since people were already arriving as we were getting home from church.  For the menu I decided to make cinnamon rolls, a fruit salad, and mini chicken and waffles. All of these were easy to make and not too much prep work was needed. For the cinnamon rolls, I made them into bunnies since it was for Easter after all - cinnabunnies! I simply unrolled some of the rolls and cut out ears to attach to the other cinnamon rolls. For the chicken and waffles, I bought remade fried chicken, but you certainly could make your own. I cut chicken fingers into three or four pieces and layered the chicken with mini waffles using a toothpick to keep it all together.
We also picked up some fresh donuts and muffins to serve and a quiche from one of our favorite local bakeries. It was already cooked and just needed to be warmed up which made. The hardest part was making sure everything was warmed and ready to go at the same time. I was constantly moving things in and out of the oven right up until we ate.
For dessert, I wanted something light, since it was only brunch, so I decided to do a version of one of my all-time favorite treats...chocolate covered strawberries. I used these orange chocolate candy melts and cut off the bottoms of the strawberries so they would stand up. I used crushed Oreos for the "dirt" and added a chocolate bunny to make them a little more festive. I also had a small carrot cake to go with it.
If you've followed me for awhile, I LOVE setting a festive table, so that was certainly an easy step for me. I found lots of cute bunny details for the table including bunny napkin rings, and then added some fresh flowers for the centerpieces and at each seat.
Overall it was a great success!

Besties for Life

I had to share these 'Besties' tees because they are just too cute. I'm so glad Charlotte is lucky enough to have a sister because I don't know what I would do without mine. Besties for life! Love this little girl gang!

White Eyelet Dresses

There is no such thing as too many white eyelet dresses! Last year one of my most worn summer dresses was a similar white eyelet dress, so this year I bought a couple new ones, and I know I will wear them a ton. I love a midi dress in the summer because it so much more comfortable to lounge in or run errands in. Because I'm pretty tall, shorter dresses are hard because they always feel too short.

I absolutely love these cuties and I couldn't resist matching them both when I went to visit last. Charlotte turned three a couple days ago and she is SUCH a hoot. She sure kept us busy. Rosie is sweet as can be. Such a doll! I love being their auntie! Now I just need to figure out how to get them to move closer...

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Decor

Today I wanted to share my Easter decor with you all. I am hosting Easter this year, so all my decor is up and my table is set! I've been buying all the bunnies (seriously I have so many). I just can't resist. They are so adorable and they give the perfect spring/Easter touch. I also picked up quite a few of the pastel colored gold speckled eggs. They can be used in so many different ways. I used them to fill bowls and to put insides my egg holders (much easier than real eggs).
I also recently go these pink ginger jars and I am OBSESSED. I've been on the hunt for pink ginger jars and these did not disappoint. I seriously want a set of every single color she makes. They are GORGEOUS. I have the medium size for reference.
