Favorite Fall Look

Sweater, Skirt, Boots similar here, Hat

This is one of my absolute favorite fall looks to date.  These boots, these sleeves, this skirt...all my favorite things is one look. You wouldn't believe this skirt is from Target (and under $20!). It is so good. I can't get over how adorable it is and it's great quality too. This sweater is so soft and comfy and the sleeves make it 100 x more fun! I'm never one to pass up a hat so I had to try to this new hat trend and it's a winner. I pretty much live in my fall felt hats and beanies in the fall/winter so it's nice to have a new type of hat to add to the rotation.
It's a short work week for me this week. I'm off to Nashville for a family wedding on Friday and I'm so excited (I've never been there). Hope you all have a great week!

Sarah

Gingham Wrap Dress

Dress, also love this and this and this and this, Shoes, Sunglasses

I wore this dress on my birthday and I got so many questions about it I thought I would share it. I wasn't planning on doing a blogpost on this look, but I know some people don't use Like to know it, and wanted the details.  Unfortunately, this dress is almost sold out, but I included a ton of my other gingham favorites. I love gingham for fall, so when I saw this dress I knew I had to have it.
The leaves are starting to look so amazing here, I just love it!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sarah

My Favorite Apple Pie Recipe

This is my go-to apple pie recipe. I love making apple pies in the fall. We've gone apple picking a few times, so we've had so many apples at our house. Mostly I make mini pies, but this time I wanted to try something new. You can see the mini pies here.

6-8 cups tart apples (about 6-8 medium sized apples) cut into small pieces
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. margarine or butter

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare crust. Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon in a bowl. Stir in apples. Put in crust and dot with margarine or butter.

You can buy the crust pre-made or make your own.  This is the recipe I use when I make my own:

1/3 cup plus 1 tbsp. shortening
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2-3 tbsp. cold water
Cut shortening into flour, sprinkle with water (1 tbsp. at a time)
Gather into ball and roll out.
Makes one crust. For this I made two one for crust one for the top.

Bake for 30-45 minutes.

Enjoy!

Pumpking Picking

Dress similar here and here, Boots similar here, Hat, Sunglasses, Jacket similar here and here

Over the weekend, Zach and I picked out pumpkins. While this wasn't the most practical outfit for carrying pumpkins, I was able to carry a small one we got and made Zach carry the rest (that's what husbands are for, right?). We got the pumpkins from a farm/cider mill right by our house. Last year we went here to get pumpkins for the first time and I loved the truck filled with pumpkins so much I took blog pictures in front of it. This year I had to do the same. I meant to take some of us actually picking the pumpkins, but this is the best we got. Once the hunt was on for the perfect pumpkins, I forgot to take pictures. Our hunt was a success and next up is carving them!
If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat you may have seen the pumpkin I decorated at school.  Each classroom at my school is decorating a pumpkin for a contest we are having next week. My classroom is owl themed, so of course we decorated ours as an owl. I think it turned out so cute! I almost want to make my pumpkins at home look like owls too! The rule was no carving, so we pinned on owl features made of felt. Gotta love a good fall craft!
I'm crazy about this crushed velvet dress and would you believe it is from Target and around $30!? The quality is great and the bell sleeve detail is so cute. It would also be so adorable with a plaid top or blanket scarf.
Just two more days and we've made it to the weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Bell Sleeve Sweater

Happy hump day! This is one of my favorite fall sweaters and it is under $40! It comes in a few different colors, but I think this color is perfect for fall. I love the bell sleeve detail and that it can be worn a little off the shoulder. In my opinion it runs a little big. This is my normal size but it does have a more relaxed fit. These jeans are my new go-tos. They are really flattering and they are less than $70. You can't beat that.
Usually at this time of the year I'm already complaining that it is getting too cold too fast, but this year the warm weather sure as stuck around! I can't wait to wear my sweaters (it has been too hot for most of them). Despite the heat, the trees are turning such beautiful fall colors. There is nothing like fall in Michigan.
Hope you all have a great hump day!

Sarah

Jean Dresses & Fur Vests

Happy Friday Eve!
When Charlotte came to town last week, we wore these matching jean dresses and fur vests. Charlotte was too excited to get outside to play to put her shoes on first so we went with the barefoot look. She was so unsure about the vest at first. She wanted to take it off right away. Once she had it on for a few minutes she liked it. I couldn't get over how adorable she looked! She definitely wore it better - haha!
We almost made it to Friday! Hope you all had a great week!
