The biggest sale of the year is almost here! In 10 days, early access begins for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
First of all, if you've never shopped this AMAZING sale, I'll briefly explain why it truly is the best. The NSale is the best sale of the year because it happens in July and features all NEW fall merchandise at a discounted price. That's right, all products are all NEW. No picked over, last season items at this sale! You can stock up for fall early, and be ready for the next season (at a fraction of the price). You can score majorly on designer items at this sale, and best of all, you won''t need to shop in the fall! You can get everything you need including boots, bags, jeans, jackets, and more. Also, the sale includes women's items, men's items, children, and home decor! There is something for everyone.
The one thing that can make this sale tricky is how fast the items sell out, that is why it is important to make a plan instead of blindly spending money on everything you like. Early access begins on July 14th, and because things sell out so quickly I highly recommend you become a credit or debit card holder (or find someone to shop for you that is)! Before I had my Nordstrom card, I would longingly look at everyone else going behind the curtains at the store and wonder what truly was back there (so mysterious-lol!). If you become a cardholder there are other great perks like free alterations and earning Nordstrom Notes (basically free shopping money). You really can't go wrong! You can sign up for your Nordstrom debit or credit card here is you want to shop early access!
Before the sale begins I wanted to share a few sale tips because it can be easy to overbuy if you don't plan ahead. I usually do my NSale shopping online because it is a lot less overwhelming.
The first thing I try to do before a big sale, especially this one, is to take a good look at my closet and clean out my closet. This helps you to see what you have. It also is a great time to try on your clothes and see what still fits and what you might need to get rid of. Knowing this will help you with the next step.
Next, make a list of things you need. This helps you have focus when you shop. Some items on your list might include jeans, over the knee boots, a fall jacket, booties, a chunky sweater, and a new fall handbag. Shop those items first and take a look at your cart and see what other items you could add once you see how much money you have left in your budget.
Speaking of budgets, it is important to set a budget and stick to it. The great thing about Nordstrom is so how easy it is to search items in different ways. I usually sort things by designer and by price. I start with designers I really like and see if I can find an item or two that I love that I can get at a great price. Then I sort by price. This helps me to only look at items in my price range and not keep adding too many expensive items to my cart. I usually put more in my cart than I will buy, then I narrow it down once I see everything together in my cart and see the final price.
Something to avoid is to shop the sale multiple times. I did this my first year I had my Nordstrom card, and I got a little out of hand. I wasn't able to have a clear idea of what I was spending because I shopped it SO many times (I'm talking at least 5 times). I also ended up with pieces I didn't love.
Here are the dates to remember:
Early Access Begins: July 14th
Public Access Begins: July 22nd
Last Day of Sale: August 7th
Stay tuned to see my picks from the sale AND to score a Nordstrom gift card to use as you shop the sale!
