Hot Chocolate Bombs

I had to give these treats a try that are all the rage this year! I thought they would be a lot harder than they turned out to be!

The first step you need to do is get yourself some chocolate molds and melting chocolate. You also will want some mini marshmallows and candy canes.

Melt the chocolate on 50% power, stirring every 20-30 seconds until fully melted. Place the chocolate in the molds and use a spoon to cover the entire shell. Make sure you get all the way to the top on every side so your shell sides fit together with no gaps.

Put the shells in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes until they are fully hardened.

Carefully take them out of the molds. Fill half with hot chocolate powder, and mini marshmallows. I also put some crushed candy canes in some of mine for more peppermint flavor.

Put a plate or pan over the heat on the stove on low. Take the empty shell halves and put them on the warmed plate to melt the edges. Put the melted edges right on top of the filled side. Use some of the leftover melted chocolate to bind the two halves together if needed.

Drizzle with additional chocolate and sprinkle with crushed candy canes (or any other toppings you want).

Put your hot chocolate bombs in a mug and pour hot milk or water over the top. Watch while your hot chocolate bomb explodes with chocolatey goodness!

Enjoy!

XO,
Sarah
