First Apple Orchard Trip

Our first apple orchard trip of the season is in the books. Now that we live so close to the orchard I can't help but go this early in the season. I've already baked a fresh apple pie and everything! It may still technically be summer, but it's fall to me. My house is fully decorated for fall and the fall weather even arrived this week.
I scored this wrap sweater at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I've been loving it for transitioning into fall. It's lightweight and perfect for layering - I've been wearing it with barrettes and lace tanks, but it would also look cute layered under a Moto jacket. This scarf is also one of my new favorites. It is hard to see in these pics, but it has little bumblebees on it and it has the perfect fall colors.

First Day of School 2018

Happy first day of school to all you teachers & students (and parents) out there! Another summer has flown by, and it's already time for school to start - hard to believe. It certainly was a wonderful summer. I can't believe this will be my SEVENTH year teaching first grade at my school. I'm very fortunate to work at such a great school with amazing co-workers (which makes going to school much more enjoyable).
While I'm not ready for back to school, I certainly am ready for fall fashion! It is no secret I am obsessed with everything fall. It is the BEST season (and it doesn't hurt that my birthday is in the fall as well). If you follow me on Instagram you know that my house is already FULLY decorated for fall. I've also been trying my best to wear transitional fall pieces and outfits despite the scorching hot temperatures. I found this dress over the weekend and I just love it. It can be worn off the shoulder or not off the shoulder. I won't probably wear it off the shoulder at school, but I love how versatile it is. It will also look adorable with a suede moto jacket when it is a little cooler outside. It's a little too hot to wear these boots with it just yet, so I will probably opt to wear my classic Tory Burch flats to school instead (linked them below).
While it certainly is a busy and stressful time at school getting back into the swing of things, it is also very exciting. I'm excited to meet all my new little first graders & I'm looking forward to a great year ahead!

(Not so) Little Black Dress

Happy Tuesday (last Tuesday of summer break - say it ain't so!). I wore this dress over the weekend to my best friend's engagement party. I absolutely love this dress and I couldn't wait to wear it. The straps are adjustable for the perfect fit and the length was perfect on me (I'm almost 5'8" for reference). I would say they fit TTS or a little small.  I usually wear an XS and the S worked well for me. I also love the slit detail and that the tulle overlay was on top of the slit so you were never showing too much skin. If I had another event to go to I would definitely be ordering this dress in other colors! It's under $75 and such a great find!  Below I included a few other similar dresses as well.
Also, these earrings (insert heart eye emoji).  I love them! They are so fun and the perfect statement earring.
On another note, I can't believe this is the last week of summer break. Next week it's back to school time- ahh!
